Yummy Deal Experiences Ltd. ("Yummy Deal", "we", "us", or "our"), incorporated April 6, 2026 in British Columbia, Canada, operates the Yummy Deal platform at yummydeal.ca from Metro Vancouver, BC. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and British Columbia's PIPA).

1. Who We Are

Yummy Deal is a web-only marketplace (no mobile app) that connects diners with restaurants offering exclusive set menus at a flat $25 CAD per person. Diners claim a set menu online, receive a claim code (YD-XXXXXX) with a QR code, and present it at the restaurant during the restaurant's operating hours within the deal validity period. Payment for the meal is made directly at the restaurant. We do not process meal payments on the platform.

2. Information We Collect

From diners, we collect:

  • Phone number (verified via Twilio SMS one-time code)
  • Email address (verified via Resend email one-time code)
  • First and last name
  • Claim history (deals you have claimed and redemption status)

From restaurant applicants and partners, we collect:

  • Business name, address, phone, and email
  • Cuisine type and operating hours
  • Menu details and photos
  • Owner/staff account information

We do not collect credit card or payment information, precise GPS location, or advertising-tracking cookies. Our platform uses Google Maps and Places Autocomplete to help diners discover restaurants; these features operate under Google's own terms and privacy policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Create and verify your account (phone/email OTP)
  • Process claim codes and communicate redemption details
  • Send transactional messages related to your claims and account
  • Review restaurant applications and operate the restaurant dashboard
  • Maintain business records and comply with Canadian legal and tax obligations

4. Third Parties and Sharing

We share limited information with the service providers that power our platform:

  • Twilio — SMS delivery for phone verification
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Supabase — PostgreSQL database and file storage (hosted on AWS in the United States)
  • Railway — application hosting (United States)
  • Google Maps Platform — maps and place search

We share the minimum necessary information with the restaurant you are visiting (name and claim code) to let staff verify your claim. We do not sell personal information. We do not share data with advertisers or analytics-tracking networks.

5. How We Protect Your Information

Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections and stored in secured databases. Session authentication uses HMAC-SHA256 signed cookies. Access to production data is restricted to authorised personnel. No online service is perfectly secure, but we apply reasonable safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data.

6. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure to satisfy legal, tax, and accounting requirements. Claim history is retained as part of our business records. You may request deletion of your account at any time (see Your Rights below); some information may be retained where required by law.

7. Your Rights

Under PIPEDA and British Columbia's PIPA you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, and request deletion of your account. To exercise these rights, email info@yummydeal.ca.

8. Cookies

We use session cookies strictly necessary to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics tracking cookies.

9. Children

Yummy Deal is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

10. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email and update the "Last updated" date above.
